Sean was a junior at Savannah College of Art and Design where he was studying film. His extraordinary talent, insight and worldview let him see the unique aspects of life events and personal relationships. His dream was to capture his thoughts on film so others could see what he saw. He had a kind and gentle soul and was loved by all. He always saw the best in others no matter who they were and was never judgmental. Although his life was cut short, he had lived it to the fullest with his family, friends and the love of his life, his Ashley.
Sean was born on the 11th of December 1989, in Houston, Texas. He attended, River Oaks Baptist as an infant, Montessori Country Day and Annunciation Orthodox School as a young boy. While living in Singapore with his family he attended Singapore American School. After returning from overseas he attended Hunters Creek Elementary, Spring Branch Middle School and graduated in 2008 from Memorial High School.
Sean is survived by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth Giroir; his sister, Virginia; fraternal grandparents, Lynn and Colleen Giroir of Seattle, Washington; great-grandmother, Shirley Giroir of Morgan City, Louisiana; aunts, Michelle Anderson and her husband David, Cherie Butler and her husband Malcolm; and his cousins, Jonathan, Sierra and Tobias. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, H. D. (Von) and Bettie Graham of Houston and New Orleans; uncle, Von Graham and his wife Nicole; aunt, Connie Leblanc and husband Dwight; and cousins, Devon, Ian, Skylar and Tucker, all of New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as long-time girlfriend, Ashley Gibson, her mother and stepfather, Johnny and Karen Burke, her father and stepmother Jonathan and Lisa Gibson, and their families. Also surviving are multiple and much loved great-aunts and uncles and their extended families, and many sweet friends of Sean and his family.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 1st of November, in the Library of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A funeral service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 2nd of November, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay Street in Houston, where Dr. Jim Jackson will officiate.
Honored to serve as casket bearers are Ian Graham, Devon Graham, Jonathon Butler, Taylor Gibson, Tim Withers, Garrett Simmons, Blake Annunziato, David Herring, George Schubert, Forrest Westmoreland, Robby Silcox, Cameron Bridges, Geoffrey Tears and Michael Smith.
The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, in the Morning Tide Section of Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Sean’s name be directed to the Spring Branch Education Foundation, for a scholarship benefiting a Memorial High School student pursuing a study in the Arts, SBEF, 955 Campbell Rd.
