Scott Chapman Smith

August 12, 1952 - December 4, 2017

Scott passed away of natural causes on December 4, 2017. Scott was born in Houston to Mary Joe (Hanna) and William George Smith, Jr. He graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1970 and later attended Southwest Texas State University and the University of Houston.

Scott worked as a bus driver for Capital Metro in Austin for the last 33 years. He was proud to be a native Texan and was a loyal supporter of the Houston Astros, Houston Texans and to the annoyance of his brother, the University of Texas Longhorns. He always enjoyed going to ball games with his cousin Keith Hanna, Keith's wife Shelley and their son Wesley. Scott sometimes presented a rough exterior but his close friends knew that inside, he had a kind and generous heart. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Scott was predeceased by his parents, his older brother William G. Smith, III (Scooter/Bill), and his nephew Shannon Smith. He is survived by his sisters Sandy Windham (Ronnie) and Rebecca Lopez (Alex), his brother Bob Smith (Judy) and his nieces and nephews, Nicole Mullen, Cari Casey, Yolanda Carter, Travis Windham and Ethan Carter.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Brookside Cemetery in Houston (13401 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039).
