She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glen Mueller, their two children, Kimberly Hundl and Stacy Rogers, her six grandchildren, Bailey Hundl, Holly (Ben) Hoffman, William (Madison) Rogers IV, Natalie Rogers, Lexi Hundl, and Turley Duque, two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Jimmy (Mary) Lester and Jerry Lester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Cowart Jr. and Nancy Goff, and her brother, Chester Cowart III.
Sandy was born on January 19th, 1949 in Houston, TX. She saw Glen at Smiley High School and thought he had a cool car. She started writing “Mrs. Glen Mueller” in her school notebook before they even met, and in just a couple years, they made that name official. That’s the kind of person Sandy was: When she wanted something, she went out and got it.
Sandy loved watching movies, her current collection totaling over 1,500. She loved completing 1000-piece puzzles and the daily Houston Chronicle crossword puzzle. But more than anything, Sandy loved her family. So many people were blessed to call themselves part of her family—more and more every year. She loved opening her home to the people around her, no matter who they were, where they came from, or even how close they were. If Sandy knew someone needed a place to stay, or a place to belong, she gave them one.
Sandy was a titan, a larger-than-life matriarch with an immeasurable impact. At only 5’1”, she somehow stood taller than anyone around her. She was the coolest person in the world, and everyone else was competing for second place. She built a family that was constantly expanding, reaching out to embrace anyone who needed embracing. And she taught everyone around her how to do the same.
