Sam A. Messina

Dad was the most loving and appreciative Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and would do anything for his family. He was full of love and joy with countless displays of kindness, generosity, fun times and advice to last a lifetime. Those who knew Dad know how much he loved life and his Lord. Dad was a member of the Sacred Heart Society.

He was funny and always had a good story to tell. He got so much joy from his grandkids and great grandkids. They filled his heart with love. Family was everything to him and he took care of all of us!

He and Mom built a strong and loving family of which they were proud of. They enjoyed their farm in Bellville raising cattle for over 40 years where we spent many special occasions playing out in the pasture, feeding the cows, riding motorcycles, fishing, playing ball, hunting Easter eggs, flying kites, barbecuing and more! Our memories are priceless and will be cherished forever. It was his favorite place to be!

If you needed to know how to fix something, he was the person to ask. And, if you still didn’t get it right, he would just fix it for you. While his legacy will live on, he and his sense of humor will be greatly missed! WE LOVE YOU, DAD!

Sam is survived by his children JoVirgil Christmas, daughter, and Glenn Christmas, son-in-law, Ross Messina, son, and Pam Messina, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Warren, daughter, and Marc Warren, son-in-law, Sam Messina, Jr., son; his grandchildren Joanna Andersen and husband, Matthew, Randy Hicks, Robert Christmas and wife, Lola, Stacy Summers and husband, Joe, Krystal Smith and husband, Andrew, Jason Wallace and wife, Adriana, Brian Wallace, Alan Wallace and wife, Tiffany, Marcus Wallace and wife, Valencia, Thomas Warren and wife, Margot, Lindsay Sanborn and husband, Justin; his great grandchildren Allie Hicks, Jocelyn Williams, Dylan Seaman, Winry Christmas, Ryan & Cameron Summers, Kinsley & Ashton Smith, Mia, Morgan and Lucas Wallace, Preslie, Ethan & Sam Wallace, Owen, Kipp & Cade Wallace, Hayden & Isaiah Wallace, Easton Cardona-Kenny, Avery & Jack Warren, Mia & Claira Sanborn.

Sam is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie, parents Rosario Joseph & Josephine Cimino Messina and an infant son that passed away at 6 weeks from pneumonia.
