What can I say about my Grandpa that hasn't already been said?  He was such a loving Grandfather.  I am truly blessed to have had him in my life.   I miss him so much.  I will miss his warm hugs, jokes, laugh and his smile.  I'm definitely going to miss all of his stories.  I loved that he would talk about his childhood and his past.  His life was so interesting.  Grandpa was such a manly man and I loved and respected that about him.  He was such a lively person too.    There are so many wonderful memories to choose from but I will never forget the day that my Grandparents came over to my house to visit.  We sat and talked for hours.  I believe it was a visit soon after my husband George and I had our son Nathan.  We ordered pizza that night and George played some Ramon Ayala and Little Joe y La Familia on youtube for Grandma and Grandpa.  We all had such a nice time listening to music and talking.  It was great.  There was never dull conversation with Grandpa.  We could talk about everything.  I'm going to miss our talks (even though I still talk to him).  I loved how he loved all of us.  I loved how he loved my kids and how much they love him too.  They hold a special place in their heart for him just like I do.   He won't be forgotten.  Like my Nate said just a little while ago, "His spirit lives on with Jesus.  Great Grandpa will live within our hearts".  

Sammy and family, I am so sorry for your loss.  Your grandpa was so warm inviting full of laughter and a smile that fills a room with light! I know those are the things people will miss about him but I also know those will be carried on through each and everyone of you! The Ledesma family especially my Sammy and my Texas momma (Deya)  fill the room with laughs, light and warmth! I have so many memories with my father-in-law but one of my favourites was sitting around the patio singing one of our favourite songs together. He loved music and anyone who sang with him knew that singing with him was special. I loved Sunday mornings when I lived next door to him. I would sneak tacos over before he had breakfast and it was our secret (even though it wasn’t a secret).  I miss the days where we lived next door. I would often go outside and talk to him while he watered the yard. We would talk about life, raising children and what he was most proud of. He was so proud of his children and everything they had become. He would often give me advice about marriage and how he felt like I was hand picked for his son John who they called “Sunshine”.  He was a loving Father and Grandfather. Maddie and Sara were toddlers when they would go out back and look under the fence to see if grandpa was out back. If he was it was like a party and I had to open the gate for them so they could go play in his yard and talk to him.  I will forever miss my dearest father-in-law but I know that he is heaven looking down on us smiling and playing his guitar.  God is great and we will meet again until then the  memories he left behind will be with us forever. His love, laughter and fatherly guidance will be engraved in my heart and those of my children.  We send our love from Australia and wish we could embrace the family right now.  Lots of love - Claudia 

My best memories are the days  when he was always grilling . He was the one to first introduce me to fajitas and grilled toasted corn tortillas . Them fajitas  were darn good! I will forever remember him doing so many strenuous jobs . He worked hard and played hard . I love how he loves his family and how he looks and seems like this big strong man but was actually a real softy . He loved planting beautiful flowers for my mother-in-law and yes for himself too . It gives us so much pride to have had the time we all had to share with him on this earth but we will all be together again . Thank you for making such a wonderful family along side with your loving wife . My children and grandchildren will miss you so much . We will all miss you so much .

I remember three times when his daughter (my wife Deya) and I went to buy seafood and we got some raw oysters.  No one in the entire family liked raw oysters except me and him.  Each time we sat outside and we ate our raw oysters with lemon and hot sauce and everybody else would make faces at us as we ate our oysters.   

The last time we went out was back in June when me, him, my mother in law, and his son in law (John) went to go gambling in Louisiana.  We talked for about five minutes before we left.  I don't remember what we talked about, but I remember me and him laughing together.  

When I think about any time we spent together it will always be those moments.

We will miss our Papo so much. We have so many fond memories of the time we spent together. From the kangaroo he had is his yard to the tire swing. We loved going fishing with him even though we only caught a crab.  We had so much fun with him that day.

Grandpa, you had such an unique soul. I know I will never meet another person like you. You are my Superman, strong in every way! Your laughter was contagious, and you smile was infectious. Your heart was so magnificent, and you surrounded us all with your unconditional love! You instilled ambition, and goals within us all... we are all just like you. Hard workers, and caring individuals. I will miss your hugs, your kisses, and the inner peace I would have being in your presence. I will miss your stories, your words of wisdom, and the comfort of knowing you were just a phone call away. I love you so much Papo. The footprints you left in my heart will be permanent. You will never be forgotten, because a piece of you, is within us all.

Grandpa, when I think of you, I think of your strong presence, your warm embrace, and I always picture you with a smile on your face. Nothing made you happier than family, and it was clear to see. You loved to sing and dance and passed on your love for music to us all. And even though you’re gone, I still see you in all of us. You had such a great sense of humor.  And I truly feel like we keep your spirit alive when we remember to laugh and sing. You were the strongest man I’ve ever known. Not everyone can say they knew a real life Superman! There was no rock too heavy to carry, no pepper too spicy, and no pair of nail clippers strong enough for those nails! Thank you for filling our lives with love and light, and thank you for making my daddy the father he is today. We’ll be together again one sweet day.  Until then - te quiero much, grandpa. I miss you bunches.

My dad was an outstanding father , he showed love to all his family . I will miss his smile , his kisses and forever I will miss his hugs as well as all the I Love You's . I am very proud to be his daughter , Dad was the Rock in our family . Growing up we never needed for anything he provided in every way and exceeded  what was required . He always had a way of making us laugh and lifting our spirit when we were down . We were all raised hearing him play his guitar , sing and serenade my mom . I will miss my Chulo .

My grandpa was an amazing man. He taught me a lot of things about being a good father and being a hard worker. He was always working on some kind of project. I would visit him sometimes and tell him he needed to take it easy but he never would. Our family has always been so close and I know its because of him and grandma. He was always loving and caring. When I was younger he liked to have family cookouts and everyone would be there having fun and always together almost every weekend. As I got older my dad and I would take him and grandma to the casino and we would all have a great time. I'm going to miss my grandpa and his laugh and hugs and how he was always enjoying life. Grandma, I'm sorry and I love you. My Tias, you all did a great job taking care of grandpa. My Tios, grandpa did a great job raising all of you so that I would have great role models along with my dad to look up to. Mom, I love you and will always be here for you. All my cousins, we may have lost grandpa but we were truly blessed to have one of the best grandpas ever. I love you all. Grandpa I love you so much and I know you will take care of us all from heaven.
