Marie grew up on her parent’s dairy farm and loved taking care of their animals. She met and married Hughes Zenor in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Jan. 1, 1960, and moved to Houston, Tx. where Hughes became a Methodist Minister. Together Hughes and Marie served in ministry in Oklahoma and Texas for 35 years. Marie worked as an insurance adjuster and worked for social services helping the people of her community. When Marie was not working, she led bible studies, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and discipled many young adults and children. Marie enjoyed riding her bike, working in her flower beds, sewing, swimming, traveling with her husband in their fifth wheel, and spending time with family.
Marie is survived by her sister, Suzanne Hayward, three children: Jullie Fugitt, Kathleen Wrobleske and son-in-law Ryan, Becky Tidwell and husband Kirk. She was a proud Grandma of ten grandchildren: Doug Feagin and wife Elizabeth, Todd Feagin, Gretchen Hey, Roy Hey, Luke Christiansen, Rachel Hall and husband Grant, Blaze Wrobleske and wife Eryn, Rebekah Bishop and husband Cole, Wyatt Tidwell and wife Ashley, and Garrett Tidwell, and nine great grandchildren, as well as cousins nephews, and nieces.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Hughes Earl, her parents, Julius and Helen Jones, and her brother Darrell Jones.
A committal service for Ruth will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Following the committal service will be a memorial service from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
