Of Russell Dean Richard
December 20, 1960 – November 16, 2015
Russell was born in Martinez, California to Joseph and Ingeborg Richard. His father was originally from Elton, Louisana and his mother from Munich Germany. They moved to Texas when he was ten years old. He graduated from Northbrook High School in 1979 and went to ITT Tech in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was employed at Sears, Coca Cola and Icee Corporation and loved his jobs in mechanical maintenance and repair. He is survived by his parents Joe and Inge Richard, his son Kendall Richard and wife Valerie Richard, his daughter Alesha Richard, his sister Randi Ragsdale and brother in law Kerry Ragsdale, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. His interest included family, hunting, fishing, repairing anything around the house and collecting beer steins.
Even though Russell lived in Houston he was a country boy at heart. In true southern spirit he forged many lifelong friendships with his quick wit and great sense of humor. He never met a stranger and never failed to put the needs of others before his own. His greatest joy in life was being father to his two children, Kendall and Alesha. He lived his life to the fullest and there was never a dull moment when he was around. Watch out Heaven here he comes!
We have many wonderful memories of Russell and will honor him by celebrating his life on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, TX 77055. There will be a memorial service at 2:00pm and visitation starting at 1:00pm before the service.
To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.
