Rose Esther Evans

Rose Esther Palm Evans was born December 9, 1931, to the late Rev. Andrew Tom Palm and Mrs. Lenah Wyche Palm in Weldon, Texas. Sister Rose E. Evans went to school in Weldon Texas. She moved with her family to Port Arthur, Texas and then move to Silsbee, TX. She also attended school in Silsbee. Rose was baptized at an early age, attended New Bethel Baptist Church, and sang in the youth choir.

Rose went to trade schools for many professions like welding, nurse’s aide and cosmetology, but most of all she was a good cook and loved it. Rose worked for Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Lawrence and their two-daughter serving as a chauffeur and cook for many years.

Rose Esther married Allen Gray and to this union one child, Larry Kent Gray, was born. They divorced and she met and married her second husband, Abraham Evans Sr. To this union, they had six children, Abraham Evans Jr., Reginald Wayne Evans, Curtis Ray Evans, Rose Nita Evans, Malcolm Roy Evans, and Marty Andrew Evans were born. Rose was proceeded in death by her husband, Abraham Evans Sr., and four children, Larry Kent Gray, Abraham Evans Jr., Rose Nita Evans, and Marty Andrew Evans.

She departed this life, July 25, 2021, and leaves to cherish her memory’s three sons, Reginald (Stephanie) of Bellville Texas, Curtis (Lynn) of Houston, Texas, and Malcolm Evans of Houston, Texas; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mrs. Frita Palm and family of Chicago, IL, the remaining Palm family and all the Evans families of Natchitoches LA, Texas and all about.

A visitation for Rose will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Golden Gate Cemetery, 8400 Hirsh, Houston, TX 77016.

A repast will be held immediately following the interment at

New Mt. Carmel BC 4301 Weaver Rd. Houston, Texas 77016.
