Ronald K. (JERRY) Cook was elevated to glory on September 24, 2015. He was born on an Oil Lease outside of Kiefer, Oklahoma on April 13, 1929. He moved to Kiefer when he was 10 years old and lived there until he graduated from College (Oklahoma A&M). He then married his high school sweetheart (Madaline D. Cryder) and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma for about three years then went into the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. When discharged, he returned to PSCO for a short time then went to work for Bethlehem Supply in Tulsa. He was employed by Shell Oil Company on March 1, 1956 and was employed with Shell until he retired in 1987 in Houston, Texas.
Jerry, as he was known to most people, was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Madaline D. (Cryder) Cook, (called Dee by most who knew her) and their oldest son, Ronald K. Cook, Jr. of Round Rock, TX and brother Richard E. Cook of Van, TX. He is survived by three sons, Douglas E. Cook and wife Susan, Kevin R. Cook and wife Terri of Culver City, CA, and Loren D. Cook and wife Brenda of Bedias, TX. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristin, Allison, Brandon, Clinton, Dustin, Jeremy, Kyle, Tylor and five great grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Barbara Cook of Van, TX; a niece and her husband in Tyler ,TX and other cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at The Cook Estate in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 10103 Katy Frwy.
