Roberta Ann Tresco Mills went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2023. Also known as Bobbie, she was born on July 27, 1940, to her parents, Albert Joseph Tresco and Antoinette Isabella DeSantis, of Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, she completed secretarial school and then began working in the Pentagon in Washington, D. C. It was there that she met Lyne Hyner Mills, Sr. They married and moved to Zachary, Louisiana, and then later to Jackson, Louisiana. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. For many years, Bobbie was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed being involved in the Garden Club and playing tennis. As the children got older, she returned to her secretarial skills working at Silliman Institute for many years and later at The Bluffs and Challenge and Development Center. Although they divorced after many years, Bobbie and Lyne remained good friends and enjoyed sharing family time together with their children and grandchildren until his death in June 2015.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her brother, Albert Louis Tresco, as well as her three children: Traci Mills Baudin and husband Earl; Lyne Hyner Mills, Jr. and wife Lauren, and Gina Mills Mullens and husband Jeff. She was known and loved as Nini to: Joshua Baudin, Daniel and Kaylie Baudin, Isabella Mullens, Maggie Mills, Sophia Mills, and Louis Mills. Everyone who knew her loved her joyous laughter and infectious sense of humor.
We will celebrate Bobbie’s life at a later time when family and friends can gather together. We invite you to give gifts in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Cookie Project Honduras, P. O. Box 546, Slaughter, Louisiana 70777. She was a board member for a time for this mission, which provides support for malnourished children in Honduras, and those children were near and dear to her heart.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that we will see her again and from these words from John 11:25-26: Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die.”
