I’m not ready to say goodbye but alas, I guess it’s time. 

I will miss your smile and your laugh.

Growing up wouldn't have been the same without Mr. Bob around.  I will never forget his fun loving attitude and silliness when us kids were out playing.  And I will always think of him when I watch a Newcastle or World Cup match since he was my first introduction to international football as a young girl. You were a great man and will be missed! Rest in peace. 

I think I met you and your lovely family in 1991, when I started babysitting your daughters when you lived in Norway. First Julia and later Victoria. You were often at work, but I remember speaking to you when you were home.
You where a nice and caring man. It was a pleasure knowing you. 
I'm so sorry that you had to leave this way. 
I'm glad you got to meet your grandson.

We had the pleasure of meeting Bob and Patricia just last summer when our children wed. I will always remember Bob's smile and kind words. His "Father to his Daugher" speech at Derek and Julia's wedding dinner was a moment we will all remember.  Very special words from a very special man. 

We will miss you Bob.

My uncle was a man that loved, cared and put others before himself. Ever since I can remember I can remember uncle Bob and the smiles and laughter that would follow him to any room that he walked into, I know he “had medals for that”. His laughter, jokes and his passion for other people will never be forgotten.
I remember the hours and hours my dad and my uncle would spend talking to each other. In 2005 my dad died due to a car accident. On January 17th 2023 they continued their conversation. 
To my aunt, my cousins and their families I’m sorry for the loss to your family. Uncle Bob can never be replaced. 

Wor Bobby,

I spent the first 12 years of my life growing up on a farm in the Northumbrian countryside with my two older brothers until Bobby left to join the army. 

He was greatly respected by everyone around us, including his elders. You would very often find him working along side them, helping out, and respectfully listening to their stories about their lives. He was always watching and picking up tips on doing anything and everything, whether it was working with animals and nature, making or maintaining something mechanical, or woodwork. He’d learned to weld broken machinery, adjust and maintain winches before he’d even left school. 

His favourite past time back then was reading, you’d often find him with anything from a tractor manual to Charles Dickens. 

Bobby was the ultimate big brother. Always looking after us, making sure we were safe and taking us exploring down in the valley and burn below our house. What a gem of a playground we had to grow up together in, from rafts in the water in summer to sledging in the winter, and a whole host of things in between to numerous to mention. 

His ability to explain things to us with patience and humour forged a lifetime bond between us. From those early days of our childhood, and throughout his adult life, Bobbys character never altered. His loving, caring, kind and humorous personality made him an exceptional man to everyone who had the pleasure to come into contact with him throughout the years. But particularly to our parents, as a brother to me and Colin, and everyone else in our family.

My Uncle Bob was an amazing man, one in a billion. He was an amazing example of perseverance, ambition, intelligence, and hard work. He came from having very little to being an incredible successful man in business and family. He was filled with joy and happiness every moment I saw him. Even in his last days I saw him laugh and smile while going through unbearable pain and suffering. And even in those last days, he was incredibly unselfish, and asked about my future plans and my New Year’s resolutions, never once focusing on himself. When my Dad passed away in 2005, my uncle lost a great friend. But while he was mourning his loss, he also took my mother, my brothers, and myself all under his wing. He lead and provided for my whole family, while leading and providing for his own. And the whole time he laughed, smiled, loved and gave so much without ever asking for anything in return. I just have a few things I need to get straight with my uncle before I close this out. First, the champion on the World Series is the champion of the World, not just the USA, American football is a much more exciting sport than soccer, and American football is also a tougher sport than rugby. I know we had many heated discussions over these topics, and I’m going to miss them all. I love you Uncle, I’ll miss you forever, and I’m a better man every day because of you.

P.S. I’ll make sure little Cooper gets all those medals you have as soon as we find where they are hidden. 

My uncle was the best man I knew. When my own family experienced loss of our own Uncle Bob was the first there for us and took care of our family. I’ll never know how to repay him for his kindness, even writing this I know I didn’t tell him enough how much I appreciate and love him. If I can aspire to be half the man he was at the end of my life I know I’ll have lived a good one. 

Rest easy, old man. I’m sure you’ll be sitting with my dad, talking when I get there.

I had the pleasure of spending some time working with Bob in Houston.  He was a true gentleman and a mentor  with a wealth of knowledge experience and wisdom . He had such a natural leadership style and I remember always coming away from any meeting or discussion with him feeling better for it and for the path forward
 no matter what the situation.

It was an honor and a pleasure working with Bob back in The Offshore Company /Sonat Offshore/Transocean years.  I will always remember him as that witty, distinguished gentleman who cared for his family, friends, and colleagues.  He was a very personable and caring man who took time to speak with and listen to you.  Always with a beautiful smile and positive attitude.  So sad he’s gone, but he has left all who knew him with some amazing memories and touched us all with his kind heart, amazing work ethics, wealth of knowledge/experience and his humor.

Tony and Bob were BEST friends since their School years from 1954 in Amble. Bob then lived in Hazon and Tony would cycle there to roam the countyrside and do a bit of fishing.[No rods, just hands into the stream and getting very wet.
The friendship continued even when Bob moved to Bavington and then joined the army. On his leave ,Tony and Bob liked a pint or two or six   in the local pubs then a drive up to Haggerstone dance or even as far as Edinburgh. One occasion, they needed to stop the car to find a place to relieve themselves. The car engine was left running, the doors were left open and they jumped over the wall. However, it was a 10 foot drop. Quite stunned, they had a difficult task to return to the abandoned car.
Bob often stayed with Tony in Warkworth ,a very uncomfortable sleep as they shared Tony's little single bed with Rusty the dog.

On 31st March 1967 Bob and Tony came to Rothbury to a village dance. This is where Barbara met Tony and they carried on seeing each other and married in 1968. Bob was our BEST man.

Bob's  parent's home was at Newton on the Moor, quite often on a Saturday we would meet with Bob then at closing time go to the farm for a sandwich. Most delicious ,as Peggy would share the Sunday roast, slice the beef into the tastiest sandwich in the kingdom.

When ever Bob was in the UK on business in London, he would take another flight North to see his family and the CUTHBERTS. These visit were very precious. Bob was so well travelled and so interesting. He also wrote such poetic letters and emails. All of them a pleasure to receive.

After Bob married Pat and they had two beautiful daughters, the visits to UK continued each year until the pandemic . We enjoyed walks together with Sandra and Colin and also BIG fires on the beach from the Pier at Warkworth. A dip in the freezing sea and then hot
 BBQ food to warm us through.
Bob so loved the hills and we would walk high into the scenic valley's.

Sorry to hear that uncle Bob has passed, I truly connected with him when we met. Such a wonderful soul to have met.
I will always be grateful that both uncle Bob and auntie Pat came to see me in England and visit my little home that I had made for Megan and I. You were and are still the only members of my family who have come to see me and spend time with me, so I will be ever grateful.

Bob welcomed me in with open arms, like a son that he never had. Getting to know Bob and his family the past 3 years have been a treat. I always enjoyed the long conversations in the backyard and the competitive games of ticket to ride. Although I never got a chance to travel abroad with him, the many stories of his time overseas kept me entertained. Thank you for letting me take your daughter’s hand in marriage and I’m so glad that you got to meet your grandson. We miss you.

One of life's true Gentleman,  I can't think of a single person who had a bad word against Bob. Honest, sincere, and a man who simply took the time to listen, advise, and most of all, made people feel appreciated and part of the team.
He and I shared one great love... Newcastle United, both being Geordies...I loved our chats about the game.
RIP Bob, you will be sadly missed. 



Bob, Pat and I went for a day to Comino, a small island off Malta. It was awesome, so much walking and laughter.  The weather was warm. The perfect couple.
A great brother in law. Always had a smile, kind, generous  and a pleasure to talk to and be around. He will definitely be missed. My heart goes out to his wife (my beautiful sister) and the family. Sending love and peace to you all . ❤️❤️❤️

I haven't had the opportunity to know Bob for very long. That really didn't matter because I knew his love of family and friends were evident in them.
 I wish I could have golfed a round with Bob. That would of been memorable.
My marriage to Angie has lead to many blessings. Bob and his family being one. I found myself enjoying his company more each time we met.
His warmth and humor, accompanied by his trademark big smile and laugh, were a lift to my spirit. My last memory, by God's grace, was seeing that smile one last time joking about him sleeping with his eyes open.
This world is a lesser place without you Bob. God now has your smile.

My dad. He was honest, kind and always had the best advice. His smile and laughter brighten any day. He was never too busy to talk. He knew how to grow the biggest and best flowers. 

He became a grandpa to Cooper. Their short 5 months together was filled with smiles and laughters. That will be cherished forever. 

He was the best dad a daughter could ask for and more. He is missed more then words can say. 

Bob Scott a Terrific brother-in-law always pleasant, supportive and great company in every way.
I will miss him forever.

Iv'e known Bob only for a relatively short time but every time I spendt with him was a joyful time and will be in my memory forever.


Pat & Family:
Bob was one of my favorite people, always interested in what others were doing and offering sage advice when it was requested or needed.  He was as knowledgeable about drilling as anyone ever has been.  This, together with his excellent people skills made him an effective leader who was respected throughout the world.  I can't imagine how many stamps his passports bore, but it must be an impressive collection.  Bob and I did several projects together and I enjoyed every one.  His positive mindset was a real asset on many occasions when the rest of us couldn't see a good way forward.

I know you and the rest of the family will miss Bob's calming presence but please realize you are not alone.  Hundreds of people around the globe are sharing your loss.  I have no doubt that you all have wonderful memories of the great times you had together and  those will be your "big rocks" going  forward.

Bob is truly the best person that I have ever met. I was so lucky to work with him during the years he spent in Norway with the Polar Pioneer team. The best Manager, leader, mentor and friend.

I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing, my sincere condolences to the family. What a legacy he left - a first class human being, pragmatic, practical, even tempered, and always with a wry smile. It was my privilege to first meet Bob when he was in Norway with the Polar Pioneer, and then when Sonat and Transocean became one, he was a huge supporter of our integration efforts. I am sure we all have our own memories of him - for me it was always his encouragement to help strive for an incident free environment, as he used to tell me ‘Lewis just keep up the continuous nagging, and they will eventually get it’. Of course his innovative mind was always on creating value for the client and that moved us towards dual activity which turned out to be truly ground breaking. Just thinking of him brings so many positive memories that will be embedded in the minds of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.  
    

Bob was a good and kind man. He was always ready to listen day or night, was a voice of reason, would help you work your way through tough problems and support you when you needed it most - when all others had turned their backs...God speed Mr Scott, I will always be grateful for your mentorship and guidance.

Bob was a fantastic employee and friend.   I never heard him complain and he was totally respected by all of our employees and customers.  I was lucky to have him work for me.

Bob was a true leader and person with a great hart. When I started my first manager role in Egypt in 2001, I was truly worried, Bob was reassuring a coaching me, although thousands of miles away via mails and many phone calls, and visits ..  thanks for your caring personality and always being there for your team and the young ones. I will never forget!!! Safe last journey!!! 

Bob Scott,  my husband we started our journey about 46 years ago married 44 years,  he took my hand at 23 where he was 35 at that time and we never looked back. Travelled the world, met people, grew and thrived together. He was my love, kind, generous, never spoke ill about anyone, always listened, always thought of everyone else before himself, always cared about his family, where he could help he was there monetary or physically, never seen a giver as such as him, strong, disciplined, he showed his loved through his actions, always acted instead of speaking, and the best one and only husband I could ever pray for.  He became a grandfather to a lovely Cooper which spurred his health for the remaining months while he was on this earth. Thank you Lord for loaning Bob Scott to me and everyone around us. I love you so much, I am your right hand, partner in crime, till death due us apart.

One of the kindest most caring and considerate men you would ever have the pleasure to meet. His ‘Scott’ witty humour captured the hearts of everyone around him, a man with so much time for everyone. The reflection of his kind and compassionate nature shows deeply in his beautiful daughters Victoria & Julia.  Our hearts break for all of the family he will be so very missed. Sending all our love and strength.

It was my sincere privilege to work for Bob twice, once in Norway  with Transocean and later in Houston/Turkey with Songa.  He was a true gentleman who always had time to listen and do the right thing.  His contributions  to Transocean were extraordinary.  The world has lost a great man, and he will be sincerely missed.

The first time I met BOB I must have been about 18 years young and a year later he became my brother-in-law. He was a very considerate man. He would listen and pay attention, one trait that many people don’t have. He was extremely kind and generous, and he had a heart of gold. I must say he had a good sense of humor ☺️. He was a hard worker and even when he retired he worked around the house consistently. 
It broke my heart to see him so frail towards the end. And now I feel extremely sorrowful 😢 to see my sister without her husband, my nieces without their dad and my sons without their uncle. 
BOB is no longer in pain and I know where he is because he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. And as long as we have accepted Jesus Christ, in our hearts, we will be reunited together in heaven.

Uncle Bobby was a genuinely great person and possessed a huge heart of gold. Grounded and down to earth, his stories and wealth of knowledge were always enjoyed. He had a great sense of humour and always made me laugh.  A warrior to the end, may you RIP.  You will be sorely missed but never forgotten!

Mr. Scott (as I always called him) was an amazing father, husband and one of a kind man. He will not only be remembered for his strength but also his sense of humor and laughter. He will be very missed and very loved by those that knew him. 

A gentleman where there aren't words to describe him, he was truly one out of 8 billion. The hardships and trials he faced throughout his years never hardened his heart but to only over pour his love, joy and focused mindset to everyone around him. He always did what was right when no one was around and treated everyone with respect even though others had different agendas. He self-sacrificed himself putting others before him when it didn't make sense. Bob Scott's way of life was lived through his actions, true to his words, and the toughest gentleman. Always laughing and cracking  jokes , a devoted Magpie , strangers and everyone alike looked up to him . A loved husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle, brother-in law, friend, we will always miss you dad
