Robert G, "Bob" Moroney, 79 entered into this earthly life on February 22, 1932 in Houston, Texas. He entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Bob grew up in the Heights and attended Reagan High School. He attended Rice University and was a graduate of the University of Houston. He was a Registered Professional Engineer and a longtime employee of Hughes Tool Company. He was active in The Boy Scouts of America as longtime Scout Master of Troop 40 at St. Rose of Lima. He is reunited with his wife, Joyce Turner Moroney; parents, William A. Moroney and Hettie Kosh Moroney; one sister, Mary Ann Ruff and one brother, Pat Moroney. He leaves to continue his legacy of love, four sons, Robert G. Moroney, Jr. and wife Carole, Rick Moroney and wife Cindy, Roger Moroney and wife Carol and Ryan Moroney and wife Kathleen; two daughters, Melinda "Linnie" Reichle and husband Gene and Mary Jo Abbott and husband Dennis; one brother, Edward Moroney; sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m at Pat H. Foley & Company. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company. A Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Randall Moroney, Matthew Moroney, Travis Abbott, Christoper Riggs, Ryan Thomas Moroney, Jonathan Moroney, Austin Moroney, Darren Urie and Cory Soward. The family would like to thank Shelia, Wanda, Yvette and Miss Virginia for their care, compassion and love during his time of need.
