ROBERT BARTON LEE, 73, of Houston, TX, passed away on July 19, 2024. Robert (Bob) was a good Christian man and a long-time parishioner at Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Houston. He was born in Houston, TX on November 25, 1950, and was baptized at Assumption Church. He then attended Assumption Parochial School before continuing on to St. Pius X High School and graduating from Sam Houston High School in Houston.
Bob was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving within the mission of Supply and Support of the US troops abroad during the war. He was very patriotic and proudly served in the US Army. After Infantry Training at Fort Polk, LA, Bob was stationed mainly in South Korea and Germany during his eight plus years with the Army. Bob had the Disabled Vet status in his later years back at home. He furthered his technical education through classes at San Jacinto Jr. College and Lone Star College. Bob had a very diversified work background, with his last job as a Warehouseman for Excel where he worked in the warehouses of Compac and DHL. Over the years, Bob enjoyed traveling, golf, sailing, working puzzles, and going on all the Harris County Fun4Seniors day trips in and around Harris County, TX. Bob also volunteered in the Houston Food Bank and at the Wings Over Houston Airshow. He especially loved the Houston Astros and seldom missed a game. Being an avid reader all his life, Bob was very interested in studying history of any kind and political science. He loved geography and maps, and even to this day, Bob had a 1962 edition of the Rand McNally Illustrated Atlas of Today's World at his bedside for quick reading.
Bob is survived by Carol Lee of Houston, sister; Ronald Lee, brother; and Frances Tolbert, sister, and her husband, David, of east Texas. Pallbearers will include Ronald Lee, David Tolbert and Richard Kubeczka.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home in north Houston on July 31, 2024. Visitation will start at 10 am in the Resthaven Chapel. Burial at Houston National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.
