Robert Harrell

Robert Taylor Harrell was born June 5, 1938 to Lewis, Sr. and Ollie Mae Harrell of Goodrich,Texas. Upon the family moving to Houston, Robert attended Buck Street Church of God In Christ where he maintained membership though adulthood. He later changed his memebreship to St. Agnes Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gene Moore. Robert graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High and attended Texas Southern University. Robert married his college sweetheart Carol Nelson Glass. God blessed this union with 5 Children, all of Houston. Robert later united with Raejean Alexander and was blessed with 3 children. A special union with Mary Shephard was blessed with one Child. After many years, Robert married Louis Faye Cherry of Houston and loved as his own her 2 daughters. Robert Worked for many years as a steel plant worker, warehouse manager for American Health Foods and decided to strive for theAmerican Dream by becoming a business owner. Harrell House Barbeque was well accepted throughout the Kashmere Gardens and Fifth Ward communities. Robert's passion was the fulfillment of his Mother's wish that the Adiar/Ryan Family Reunion continued.This annual event of 36 years brought unspekable joy as he witnessed family coming together sharing love, laughs, trials and commitment. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents: Lewis, Sr. and Ollie Mae: (5) brothers: Clinton "Blue", Eddie Roy, Walter "Goat", Artis, and Jo Nathan "Joe": two nephews: Gregory and Willie III, A grandson: Darwyne Ray, Jr. and his great-granddaughter, LaQuintesse. Robert leaves to cherish his memory: (4) sons: Darwyne(Linda), Micheal(Dorothy), Jaryvis, and Tramell: (9) daughters: Yolanda Mosley(Gene Sr.)Latoshia Thibodeaux,Erin Jacobs(David),Billie Deloris (Donald), Nakita Wingwood(Chip), Kimberly Steward, Holly Harris(Ken), Keisha Cherry and Rosa Garcia (Ralph);42 grandchildren;51 great grandchildren;1 great-great grandchild; (2) brothers: Lewis"Junebug" HArrell,Jr.(Melba) and Gary Harrell(Kathleen);(2) sisters:Claudie Jacobs and Diana Simien;(3) aunts: Sandra Ryan, Willie Lee Andrews and Essie Gains; (2)sister-in-laws: Betty Hightower (Hollis) and Connie Harrell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the entire Adair/Ryan Family Reunion Family.
