Bob, as he was known to his many friends, attended public schools in Thrall and Granger, Texas and the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master degrees in geology. He worked for over 35 years in petroleum and mineral exploration for Conoco, Texas Eastern and as an independent geologist. He was a longtime member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist and the Houston Geological Society. Bob attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Bryan for many years and previously he attended St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Houston where in the past, he served on the Vestry and as Junior and Senior Warden.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy C. Arrington. He was preceded in death by his sisters Louise Arrington Birkelbach, Hazel Arrington Hatfield and brother Dr. James M. Arrington. He is survived by his son Robert W. Arrington and wife Ann, grandsons Jeffery Arrington and John Scott Arrington and great grandchildren Douglas and wife Ashley, Miranda, Collins, and Evan Arrington and wife Jenna, three great, great grandchildren and by his daughter Cynthia Anne Arrington Morris and husband Bill, grandson Matthew Morris and wife Thena, great grandchildren Madison Morris, and Mason Morris and granddaughter Courtney Davidson and husband Dusty and great grandchildren Macy Davidson and Chance Davidson and many loved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the chapel at Earthman Resthaven in Houston on Monday, June 1st at 11:00 with burial directly after. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Fund in Bob’s name.
