What an AMAZING human being.  He was larger than life.  When I moved back home with my parents after my divorce Rick and Dee welcomed me with open arms.  So here I moved back home then Mark and Darryl had moved back home as well.  I called our street the cul-de-sac for the divorced.  Rick and Dee then nicely grilled my new boyfriend.  Turned out when my boyfriend, Charlie, was in the Air Force he was a Wild Weasel.  So he and Rick would talk for hours.  Rick also helped me find one of Charlie's flight patches that we used to create a surprise grooms cake. 

Mother would spend many nights visiting with Rick and Dee since she became a widow.  It was such a relief to know that mother was in good hands.  

One of the last visits I had with Rick was when I brought a high school, a college student and 2 elementary students over to interview him about his tour in Vietnam.  Kids were amazed by what Rick shared with them. Needless to say the younger ones thought Rick was a new kind of Super Hero.  The older ones said, "that was so COOL!" Thankfully one of the students that wrote the report has now shared it with along with all the photos so the other students who were in attendance can carry on Rick's story.  

I'm honored to call Rick a friend and confident.   May you rest in peace.  

Rick, don't forget to keep the Moscato chilled for us up there.

Dee and Family, I've always loved Richard and he's my hero.  We use to have so much fun playing together as children (Richard, Norma, Ronald, and me).  What a wonderful cousin he has been.  John send his love also to all the Westcotts.  Barbara Jan

I remember seeing my uncle  in Life Magazine standing next to his jet with a huge hole in the wing during Vietnam.  Years later, I read several books about the Wild Weasels.  The "First In, Last Out" F-105 "Thud" drivers were as courageous as any pilots of any combat history.  When your job is to draw out and then play dodge ball with surface to air (SAM) missiles to keep bombers safe, you're as tough as they come.  Yet, when I talked to my uncle about those missions, he so humble and matter of fact.

I enjoyed getting to know Rick in our Tuesday night Bible Study. When we met last Tuesday night, we all prayed for Dee and the family.    I will continue to hold the family in my prayers.

Dee, we are sorry to hear of Ricks passing.May God bless you and your family during this time of grieving.The Bono family.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  I'll miss ushering with Rick on Sundays. Always looked forward to his hugs.

He was so special that there are not unique words to express our feelings of sorrow for his leaving us.  Every where in the Church there will be reminders that "Rick was here."

He will live long in our memories.
