After a lengthy illness Mr. Richard Arthur Warriner, “Dick”, 78, of Katy, Texas, passed away Friday October 28th, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Dick was born September 28, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Margaret and George Warriner.
He spent most of his childhood in Houston before moving to Midland, Texas where he graduated from Robert E Lee High School. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1968 with a degree in aerospace engineering. He had a long and storied career as an oil executive until he retired in 2012. His work enabled him to travel to every continent with the only exception being Antarctica. He was an accomplished aviator logging flights for three decades in Texas and the surrounding states. A lifelong hobbyist, he was also a talented photographer, avid scuba diver, and BBQ pitmaster. He adored his wife and was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Connie Warriner, of Katy, Texas; daughter, Laurie Farroni of Galveston, Texas; sons, Richard Arthur Warriner Jr of Cypress, Texas, and Doug Warriner and wife Kelly of Smithville, Texas; Sister, Janice Kennedy and husband Hank of Round Rock, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Dick was a proud Texan, husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the G21 team at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the caring staff of Anchor Hospice for providing such kind and supportive care over the last month. A service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday November 4, 2022, at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church 1530 Norwalk Dr, Katy, TX 77450.
