Richard was born in Fostoria, Texas. His family moved to Houston where he met his beloved wife Joyce. They were married for 56 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Richard retired from Shell Oil Company after working 30+ years at the Information Center in Houston. After retiring, he and Joyce moved to Camila on Lake Livingston. They loved spending time together and traveling all over the country. He enjoyed woodworking, making numerous pieces of furniture for their home, for his grand kids, as well as cabinets for his local church in Camila. He loved hunting, fishing and sporting clays. In the past few years, he loved fishing in DeRidder, La. with his brothers and sons.
He was proceeded in death by his father Taylor Kelley, mother Christine Velovis Kelley, and wife Miriam Joyce Kelley. He is survived by his brothers Jerry Kelley, Roger Kelley and wife Bobbie, sons Taylor Wayne (Scooter) Kelley and wife Debbie, Carl Alan Kelley and wife Eileen, and Richard Craig Kelley and wife LaDonnna. He has 8 grandchildren, Lisa Hebert and husband Aaron, Cody Kelley, Jordan Kelley and wife Bethany, and Dayna Black and husband Dustin, Christopher Kelley, Tiffany Meuth and husband Brett, Richard Kelley and wife Ciarra, and Jessica Freund. He also has 13 great grandchildren, Annalynne Hebert, Caelan Hebert, Taylor Hebert, Stetson Kelley, Rylan Meuth, Reagan Meuth, Reid Meuth, Isabella Marin, Bentley Kelley, Richard Graham Kelley, James Freund, Elizabeth Freund, and Ashley Freund, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 18, 2021, 2:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
