Rev. Virgil Vance Joseph

On November 24, 1956, God blessed L.P. and Cynthia Allen Joseph in flint Michigan with Virgil V. Joseph. Virgil graduated from Kearsly High School in 1974. He diligently served his country from 1976 to 1979. In 1980 he became a licensed cosmetologist, and through his profession, he made many friends. In 1980 he meet the love of his life in which he married in 1982. Virgil accepted Christ at an early age. Virgil announced his calling to the ministry in the year 2000. He was ordained in November, 2001 at True Light Missionary Baptist Church of Flint, MI under the leadership of Pastor Marcellus Burkett. In 2004, Virgil united with Bella Vista Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, TX, where he served as an associate minister, member of the Mass Choir, youth Sunday School teacher, and Street Minister. He was also active in several other ministries in the church until his health began to fail. On Wednesday, January 9, 2014, Virgil departed this earthly life for his Eternal Home. He is now united in Heaven with his father, L. P. Joseph, sister Georgina Walton, brother Frank Joseph, nephew Ronald E. Gaines and several aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 31 years, Cora Joseph, his mother, Cynthia Joseph, daughters Carla James (Durwood) of Houston, TX and Mistey Redmond of Flint, Michigan; three brothers Gregory Gaines (Pam) of Flint, Michigan, Ronald Gaines of Flint Michigan, and Darnell Joseph (Kim) of Houston, Texas; two sisters Madeline Carol Spence of Houston, TX and Maggie Mitchell of Woodville, TX; five brothers-in-law George Jones (Jean), Larry Jones (Betty), Kurt Jones ( Terri ), Eric Jones (Lyniece ), Derrick Jones and one sister-in-law, Gloria Mays of flint Michigan. He also leaves two grandsons, Dylan and Kevyn, three granddaughters Carrington, Kamaiya, and Skylai and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, including his Bella Vista Missionary Baptist and North Main Church family and a special friend Betty (Willie) Robinson of Phoenix, Arizona.
