Renate Bockelman, a Spring, Texas area resident, was born to Eugen & Karolina Neuner on 6 January 1943 in Karlsruhe, Germany. She was met at the gates of Heaven by her parents, loving husband Roger and their beloved pets, Buddy, Beau & Dusky on 21 May 2023.
Renate was an Administrative Professional for most of her life, she even worked for the US Air Force as a Secretary to the Post Commander in Wiesbaden Germany, but family always came first. She was a proud American Patriot, even long before becoming a US Citizen. She loved traveling and camping and made sure the whole family got to see and experience places all over the world. She was an unmatched knitter. She could knit anything! She took great joy in knitting & delivering preemie caps to Memorial Hermann Hospital of The Woodlands. She loved to tell us stories of her youth travels in Germany and surrounding countries with her church choir group. She spoke five languages: German, English, Italian, French & Latin. She was an amazing person, devoted & loving wife, mother, grandma & great grandma.
Roger & Renate had been married for 52 years before Roger’s passing. Renate leaves behind their children Annette Boyd, Patrick Bockelman, Dominique Madden, Pamela Pfeiffer, and their families including six grandkids William, Anthony, Roger, Yolanda, Andrew & Peter as well as two great granddaughters Valentina & Rylee.
Viewing & visitation will be on Thursday, 1 June 2023, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the American Heritage Funeral Home at 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive. Renate will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive. Services are closed to closest family & friends. There will be no reception to follow.
