Regginal Wendell Brown, 64, of Houston, TX, peacefully gained his wings on April 27th, 2024, surrounded by the love and admiration of his family and friends. Affectionately known by many names such as Daddy, Reggie,Big Daddy, PaPaw, DJ RB, Brother Brown, or Fire Hawk. Regginal was a beloved soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. Born on July 29,1959, in Houston, TX, he was the cherished son of Edna Mae WingoHudson and Ben Hudson.
After completing his formal education at Gregory Lincoln High School,Regginal embarked on a journey in the restaurant industry, and heapplied that knowledge in his home kitchen where he made the best homemade hamburgers EVER! However, his passion and determination led him to pursue a career at Bank of America, where he dedicated 19years of his life. Yet, driven by his desire to serve and protect his community, he decided to return to school and earned a degree in criminal justice at San Jacinto College. It was through unwavering faith,resilience, and trust in GOD'S purpose that he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a Firefighter for the city of Houston in 1995. Regginal served as a Houston Firefighter for an illustrious 29 years, saving countless lives along the way. His commitment to his duty was unwavering, and he retired as an Engineering Officer in October of 2023, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and selflessness.
Beyond his remarkable career, Regginal's true devotion lay in his faith in our LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ, who held the highest place in his heart. To those who knew him well, Regginal's deep spirituality was evident, often sharing his wisdom and preaching messages of love and hope. Family and friends held a special place in Regginal's heart, and he demonstrated his love and care by always being present in their lives.Whether it was a birthday celebration, graduation, or any significant event, all he needed was an invitation, and he would go above and beyond to show his unwavering support. His infectious smile, vibrant personality, and ability to create a joyous atmosphere made every gathering memorable. Regginal's love knew no bounds, and he willingly went the extra mile for his loved ones, expecting nothing in return. His family and friends were truly blessed to have experienced his unconditional love through his daily phone calls, thoughtful texts, and his famous picture collages that captured beautiful memories.
Regginal is preceded in death by his parents, Edna Mae Wingo Hudson and Ben Hudson, as well as his son, Monta Fizer, and his brothers, Benny Novelle Brown and Berkley Cardell Hudson. He is survived by his daughters, Katoria Gibbs (Eugene Gibbs II) and Courtney Brown, and son,Jason Brown. His legacy lives on through his adoring grandchildren:Santiago Jayden (Wiggle), Eugene Gibbs III (Lil E or Miracle Baby), Jacob,Jessie, Monta Jr., and Joshua, as well as his great-grandchild. Regginal is also survived by his sister, Sena Dolline Hudson, and a host of close first cousins, cousins, and friends who were like family to him. Regginal Wendell Brown will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, kindness,and generosity. His unwavering faith, selflessness, and vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched. As we bid farewell to our beloved Regginal, let us cherish the memories shared and carry his legacy of love and compassion within our hearts.
