Rebecca West Bird

She was the eldest of three children to the late Joseph Hugh West and Mary Earlene West Cooksey. She was also loved and adored by her stepfather, Gene Cooksey. Becky graduated in 1972 from Robert E. Lee High School. Becky will be forever remembered by her devoted brother, Wrey West of Hempstead, Texas and her loving sister, Joy West Swain and husband, James Swain of Katy, Texas, and their three sons Ben, Jared and Dylan Swain.

Her beloved children are Amy Bird Shank and husband, Bill Shank of Hempstead, Texas, Cody Bird and wife, Toni Bird of Spring, Texas, as well as, her treasured grandchildren Jacke Shank, Jessi Shank and Brianna Bird along with countless friends and extended family whom were blessed to know her and love her for the amazing person she was.

Becky loved laughing, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Becky’s career after raising her children began in multi-family housing. It was her pride and joy for over 25 years and she was exceptional in her career working extremely hard to be able to finally retire just a year ago in 2020.

Becky touched the lives of all who encountered her through her glowing smile and generous heart, portraying the absolute picture of love and strength all her days until God called her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 13th, 2021 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home located at 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, Texas 77077. There will be a reception following the Chapel service and the gravesite burial will conclude the afternoon.
