Randolph “Randy” Fontenot passed away peacefully surrounded by his family November 26, 2019 after a battle with cancer and multiple sclerosis. Randy was born on November 30,1962 in Opelousas, Louisiana to Jessie Fontenot and Maryland Johnson Fontenot. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1984. After college, he worked for Maison Blanche and Capital Bank in Baton Rouge, LA and then moved to Houston, TX in 1990. He worked for the Houston Methodist Hospital for 26 years. Randy was a proud Eagle Scout and had a passion serving in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed good food, camping, being outdoors, building model trains, and watching Jeopardy and Bar Rescue. He was a dedicated husband, father, provider, and advocate for his family. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Landry Fontenot, his son, Brandon Fontenot, his daughter, Amanda Fontenot, his sister, Debra Fontenot, and his brother Kevin Fontenot. Randy was preceded in death by his mother and father.
A vigil will be held from 5:00-9:00PM on December 15th at Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home, 9149 Hwy 6, Houston, TX 77095. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00AM on December 16th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks Satsuma, Houston, TX 77084. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/) or American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/) would be appreciated.
