Ralph Eugene Parshall, 82, born to Merle and Mary Parshall in Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2010 in Houston. Mr. Parshall was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Howard Parshall. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Wellborn Parshall; daughters, Paula Parshall and Lee Anne Chumley and husband, Steve, and by grandsons, Christopher, Cameron, and Cody Eugene (his namesake) Chumley.
Mr. Parshall attended Reagan High School and graduated from the University of Houston. He served his country proudly as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, and was the owner of two successful businesses, Air Control-Valve Service Inc. and Impreg-Tech Inc. He was respectfully known all along the Texas and Louisiana coast as “Mr. Ralph”. Mr. Parshall was part of the family of North Houston Baptist Church and Spring Branch Community Church, where he was both blessed and a blessing. His business card reflected his strong faith: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to Star of Hope Mission, 6897 Ardmore, Houston, Texas 77054.
The flag draping Mr. Parshall's casket was flown over the U. S. Capitol on the occasion of Norma and Ralph's 50th wedding anniversary.
