Penny Luna

Penny Luna, age 83, passed away peacefully in the presence of her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 17th 2024. Penny is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Perez and Guadelupe Garza-Perez, her brothers, Francisco Perez, Manuel Perez, Moses Perez Samuel Perez, and sisters, Nicoloas Perez, Guadelupe Perez-Trigro, and Juanita Perez-Castro. Loved by many, she leaves behind her two sons, Joseph Jacob Lopez, his wife Brenda Piatiak; Jerold Jason Medellin, and his wife Yolanda Medellin, sister Janie Perez-Cebellos and a daughter Penelope Medellin. Penny coddled her grandchildren, Leiah Lopez (18), Izabella Lopez (15), and Hyacinth Lopez (11). She was born in Houston Texas on November 11th, 1941 and raised in Houston all her life. An avid baker, she had a signature zucchini bread recipe that has been passed down to two generations. She spent time with her grandkids with a loving heart and always looked out for the ones she loved. She brought the joy and love of Jesus to the family and always offered to take the children to church every Sunday when she was able to. She loved working with her hands which led to a passion for furniture upholstery and wood refinishing.
