PAULINE CULOTTA CASSATA, age 89, was born on the 3rd of October 1920, in Rochester, New York to Sicilian immigrants Theodora and Joseph Culotta, peacefully completed her earthly journey on Thursday morning, the 8th of April 2010, and rests in peace in the presence of her Eternal Father in heaven.Pauline is survived by her husband of 68 years, Baldwin Cassata; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Dorann and Joseph Fruia; two grandsons and their wives, Judd and Annemarie Fruia and Michael and Nicci Fruia; and five great grandchildren, Anthony, Joey, Hayden, Ava and a new great granddaughter due in May. She is also survived by her brother, Cos Culotta of Petersborough, New Hampshire; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pauline's life was one of devotion to her family, her Catholic faith, heritage and friends. She was a compassionate, caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother and Nonna who blessed all with cherished memories, her loving smile and laughter.Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from three o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 9th of April, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will commence at four o'clock in the afternoon led by the Catholic Daughters, followed by a parish rosary at seven o'clock in the evening.The Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 10th of April, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. David J. DuBois is to serve as celebrant.Honored to serve as casket bearers during the services are Judd Fruia, Michael Fruia, Anthony Fruia, Johnny Cassata, Joe Culotta, Ted Liveris and Chris Culotta.The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park, Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in memory of Mrs. Cassata may be directed to the Cassata Learning Center, 1400Hemphill Street, Fort Worth, TX 76104-4703.
