Patsy Ann Miller was the second of five children born to Louis and Lillie Mae Miller on January 5, 1942 in Houston, Texas. Patsy Miler grew up in Ryan Edition where she educated in the public school system attending Ryan Elementary and Kashmere High School. Patsy Miller received Christ at an early age baptized under the leadership of Reverend Edwards of Evan Chapel Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend L. T. Jackson. Patsy joined Creston Missionary Baptist Church in 1971 under the leadership of Reverend Leroy Ross where she was an active member until her health declined. During her fellowship, she was a Sunday school teacher, active with the woman's mission, a member of the hospitality committee, and choir.
Patsy married the late Alfred McKinley Calhoun Sr. and from this union four children were born. She later remarried to the late Kennard Plummer, from this inion no children were born, however, they adopted a daughter. Patsy loved studying the word of
God just as much as she loved cooking for family and friends. Famously known for her greens, dumplings, dressing, and seafood gumbo. Patsy worked as a cook at Princess Hamburgers, a dietician assistant at the Department of Veteran affairs, a dietician assistant at Quitman General Hospital, and a Security Monitor at Cornell Correction Ben A Reid.
Patsy was preceded in death by her father Louis T. Miller, Sr., mother Lille Mae Price, brothers Ellis L. Miller, Howard Miller, and Connie Archer, sisters Linda Baker and Brenda Russell.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, McKinley Calhoun III, Michael Calhoun Sr. (Hayde Dedrick Calhoun Sr. (Monet), four daughters Ramona Williams, Shanta Boyd, Sara Boyd and Tara Plummer. Eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Three sisters, Peggy Brown, Joan Brown and Carolyn Booty. Two brothers, Johnny Miller and Baron Miller (Cristell). One uncle James Skillern, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
