Patsy Harwell Cole, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday February 12, 2011. Born on April 9, 1927 in the little community of Chatt, Texas south of Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas she was the youngest of eight children born to Maud Alice and Joel Theophlus Harwell. Patsy is survived by her daughter, Debra Cole Holloway of Houston, grandson Charles Bradford Holloway of League City, granddaughter Brandi Holloway Hinson and husband Kevin Hinson of League City, and brother William E. Harwell and wife Ernestine of Pearland Texas, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Cole, son in law Larry W. Holloway, brothers Alex Harwell of Ft. Worth, Texas and Woodrow Harwell of Germany, sisters Athalee Bell of Houston, Evelyn Lyon of College Station, Gladys Lauterbach of Ft. Worth, and Mary Catherine Harwell of Hill County, Texas.
Patsy was baptized into Christ on August 12, 1939 in HIllsboro, Texas and was a member of Southeast Church of Christ, Friendswood Tx.
Patsy graduated from Hillsboro High School in June 1946 and entered the workplace in the capacity of Secretary to the late A.L. Smtih, owner of Hillsboro Cotton Mills. She was married to Charles Ray Cole, also a resident of Hill County, Texas on November 28, 1946 and continued to live in Hill County until moving to Houston in 1948.
Patsy was employed in the position of Administrative Assistant to the Branch Manager for Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corporation at the time of her retirement after 32 years of service. Following her retirement from General Motors, Patsy worked part-time for Gospel Services in Pasadena, Texas. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale from 6:00- 8:00 pm, on Tuesday February 15th. A graveside ceremony will be at 3:00pm on Wednesday, February 16th at Forest Park Lawndale, Interment following.
