On Sunday, August 2, 2020, Patrick Lloyd Gibbs, loving son and brother, passed away at the age of 29. Patrick was born on September 6, 1990 in Houston, TX to Guy and Linda (Wright) Gibbs. He graduated from Dulles High School in 2009 and received his EMT certification from Houston Community College in 2015.
Patrick had a true passion for helping others. This is what led him to a career as an Emergency Medical Technician, where he helped and even saved peoples’ lives. He also loved the freedom of the outdoors, and found great joy in hiking, hunting, and exploring with his dogs Cullen and Lil’ Bit. An avid reader, Patrick could devour a book in a blink of an eye, and his imagination knew no bounds. He had a reputation for whistling at the most unwelcome moments, and a knack for cracking jokes when it was most needed. Patrick’s essence will always be defined by his raw, unfiltered empathy towards each and every person, every animal and every thing, no matter how great or small.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guy in 2003. He is survived by his mother Linda Salazar, stepfather Oscar Salazar, brother Scott Gibbs (fiance Tori Chalmers), aunt Cynthia Pearce, uncle David Wright (wife Mardie), and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. In loving memory of Patrick, the family asks those who are inclined to donate to the non-profit charity, To Write Love On Her Arms, at www.twloha.com.
Due to Covid-19, the funeral service will be held privately for family only on August 11th, 2020 at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, TX. However, the service will live-streamed on the Forest Park Lawndale Facebook Page.
Sweet dreams Patrick
