September 18, 1962 – April 18, 2022
Patricia Ann Martinez passed away peacefully at home, in the care of her devoted family, when she was called to eternal rest on April 18, 2022.
Pat married Hector, the true love of her life, 40 years ago. Together they created a family whom she loved with all her heart. They spent their time together building and celebrating family milestones, traveling with family and friends, and enjoying the close friendships they had with so many people. No life is without hardships and throughout hers, Pat showed the rest of the world what a true fighter she was. She kept her family together through these times, beating cancer twice and remaining true to her faith. She was eager to share that faith and stood as an example of strength, never giving up on herself or her family.
When Pat and Hector began their family, Pat also began her career with the US Postal Service. After 35 years of service, Pat followed Hector’s lead and retired. She kicked off retirement traveling with Hector and friends, enjoying Boston, southern California, Missouri, and even a couple of cruises. She also began gardening and was eager to share her new-found talent with others. In retirement, she and Hector could not sit still and both began a second career at the Apple Spice Company, working part-time.
Pat is preceded in death by her father Pedro Rene Garcia. Pat is survived by her husband Hector, children Michelle Cunningham, Hector Martinez III, and Alex Martinez and wife Jacquie. To cherish her memory, she leaves her grandchildren Joshua and wife Natali, Jacob, Natalie, Alex Jr. (AJ) and Juliana; her grandmother Mary Alice Gloria; mother Mary Alice Garcia; her siblings Joe Garcia and wife Tanja, Ana Cosme, Bernadette, Elizabeth Sanchez and husband Jesse; her Martinez brothers- and sisters-in law; her beloved Yorkie Mimi; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory her best friends Theresa Hernandez and Mary Duron.
The family has scheduled a memorial service at Forest Park Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, 12:00pm – 3:00pm. As a tribute to Pat, any plant or floral arrangements received will be added to Pat’s home garden.
