Patty is preceded in death by her mother Neta Kenneday, father John Kenneday, husband Allan Lake and later husband, Jim Cady. She is survived by her son Jeff Kraft, his wife Dawn Kraft and two grandchildren who were the light of her life, Patricia Kraft and Davis Kraft.
Patty is also survived by her younger siblings and their spouses Mike and Sherry Allard, Rick Kenneday, Mark and Maria Kenneday as well as her stepmother Loyce Kenneday. In addition, she leaves behind a multitude of cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews whose pictures she loved to both look at and show off.
Patty was born in Gainesville, FL and later her father’s work took the family to Texas. Her father’s work moved them to multiple cities, but at the time of her graduation from Memorial High School, she lived in Houston, TX. Patty attended college at TCU in the late 60's and after a hiatus from school that included taking on the important role of being a mom, she later finished her bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston.
After graduating from U of H, Patty got her CPA and from there, the sky was the limit for her. Her career took her all over the US for a variety of organizations and activities. She worked not only in Houston but also in Minnesota, New York and Delaware. But she eventually landed back in Houston where she could be close to her “precious grandbabies” and all the other people who were important in her life.
Patty was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, friend and mentor. She had love, words of encouragement and compassion in her heart for everyone she met. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family invites you to join them for a memorial service celebrating her life at Brookside Funeral Home – Champions (3410 Cypress Creek Pkwy, Houston, TX 77068) at 11 am on Saturday, June 19, 2021. There will be a reception time preceding the service from 10-11 am.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brooksidechampions.com for the Cady family.
