Pat is survived by his children Patricia Diane Walker Naron and husband Adrian; Christopher Michael Walker and wife Heather; grandsons Zachary James Walker and Avery Michael Walker; granddaughter Kelsey Ruth Walker; mother-in-law Juanita Ruth Rankin; sisters-in-law Carolyn Kathryn Moore and Adriane Susan Wild; brother-in-law William Joseph Coffey II and wife Lynne Gomez; nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Diane Coffey Walker; son Stephen Craig Walker; mother Mary Jane Walker and father Riley Newte Walker.
Pat was born on November 5, 1940 in Itasca, Texas to Mary Jane Wallace Walker and Riley Newte Walker. He later moved to Houston with his mother at a young age and Houston was always his home.
While Pat was in high school, he meet Barbara. They were introduced by Barbara’s uncle, who went to school with Pat. In 1959 they started dating while still in high school. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in January of 1961 where he was on the track team. In August of 1962, they were married and were still together until the day of Barbara’s death in 2000. After getting married he worked at The Post and Foley’s. Later on at Foley’s, he was promoted to manage the hardware and paint departments. He left Foley’s to begin working for Western Electric on October 24, 1966. Over the years Western Electric has changed its name to AT&T and later Lucent Technologies when he retired on July 2, 2002 after almost 36 years of service. During those years he traveled the United States for work. He was a member of the CWA Local 6290 and SPJST Lodge 88. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His other passions included the love of animals, the music of Frank Sinatra, going to the movies, collecting movies, watching and going to sporting events that had any Houston team playing, collecting sports memorabilia, NASCAR and collecting anything that dealt with roosters.
Pat will be truly missed by his family and friends.
