Olivia was born February 2, 1927 in San Juan, Texas. Olivia was the eldest daughter of Sabas Trevino and Manuela Garza. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 of her siblings, and her son, Gerardo Rodriguez. Olivia is survived by her sisters, Elia Graciela Trevino Garza, Benilde Irma Trevino Garza and Jaime Oscar Trevino Garza of Monterrey, Mexico.
Olivia was raised in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico, a small town outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Her family moved to Monterrey, Mexico when she was a young adult. She obtained technical degrees in accounting and stenography and worked for a newspaper in Monterrey.
Olivia met and married Gilberto Rodriguez in 1957 in Monterrey, Mexico. In 1958 she moved to Chicago, Illinois and soon after, settled in Houston, Texas, where she was a homemaker to her two sons.
She was loving and caring to her family and she loved to cook Mexican dishes including tamales, homemade tortillas and empanadas. Olivia enjoyed traveling and made many trips to Monterrey to visit family and in her later years, she and her spouse would frequent the Coushatta casinos. She loved walking in Mason park with her friends, chatting and sharing stories over coffee. She was famous in the Zepeda household for making Bunuelos every Christmas.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Gilberto, Gilbert & Gloria Rodriguez of Houston, Texas and their children: Danielle Rodriguez Clark, spouse Matthew Clark with daughters Eliana Guadalupe and Catalina Luz, from Plano, Texas. Eric Rodriguez and Sarah Long from Asheville, North Carolina. Daughter in law Renee Rodriguez and son Christopher Rodriguez of Frisco, Texas. And numerous nephews and nieces in Mexico.
Olivia will be truly missed. We would like to thank the staff at the Reserve at Royal Oaks for the loving special care that they provided for the last 4 years of her life.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am in the church hall followed by mass at 10:00 am at Immaculate
