Norma graduated from Jeff Davis High School and received a High School Diploma. She met Edward Maki in High School and married on November 5, 1963. Norma worked in her family business at Seasonal Comfort Co. for 45 years. She has a passion for Bible study, her animals, spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and their children.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julius Edward Maki; mother, Mary Francis Meyer; father, Ernest Clyde Meyer; niece, Sandy Scarborough; grand niece, Jennifer Wood.
Norma is survived by her sons, Julius Richard Maki (Alice Maki), and Norman Edward Maki (Missy Maki); sister, Glenda Scarborough; niece, Kim Hall; nephews, Donny Scarborough, and Paul Wood; granddaughters, Tiffany Maki, Brittany Maki, Ashley Maki, Courtney Maki, Chelsea Wallace, and Amber Gibson; great grandchildren, Kryié Grace, Strider Jackson, Gage Gibson, Peyton Riley, Pressley Riley, Riley Gibson, and Haley Gibson; great nieces and nephews, Amy Scarborough, Justin Scarborough, Ryan Hall, Chris Hall, John Hall, Abigail Hall, and Alex Wood; sister-in-law, Roya Metcalfe.
A visitation for Norma will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 25 Tidwell Rd, Houston, Texas 77022. A funeral will occur Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 25 Tidwell Rd, Houston, Texas 77022. A graveside will occur Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
