She was born in Florida, Camagüey, Cuba on May 1, 1929 to Dolores Paradela Horta and Otilio Raset Porro. Nora was raised in the Baptist church. She was married to the love of her life, Emilio Tomás Pérez, for 42 years until his passing in 1995. Nora was passionate about beauty and had a long career as a beautician before her retirement. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Nora enjoyed listening to a variety of genres of music, watching ballets, operas and musicals, and she loved to dance with her beloved husband. Nora took pride in cooking for her family, making flan and spending time in her garden. She was known for her unique, infectious laugh, her pretty smile and her trademark bright lipstick.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Tomás; her mother and father; her sister, Rosalba Raset Espinosa, and her brother, Otilio (Tilín) Raset Paradela. She is survived by her only child, her daughter, E. Grizell (Pérez) García, her son-in-law, José L. García, her two granddaughters, Natalia A. Gonzáles and Alissa N. Girolamo, and their husbands, Keith Gonzáles and Karl Girolamo. She is also survived by her two precious great-grandsons, Landon K. and Luke T. Gonzáles.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer @ Dairy Ashford Rd. Burial Services will follow in the cemetery of Forest Park Westheimer. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
