Nicole was born February 23, 2001 in Plano, Texas, and was the second of the three children of Brian Crandall and Jerilyn (Brough). With the exception of a short few years in Oklahoma, Nicole spent her entire life as a Texas girl. She loved all things Texas, including Bluebell Ice Cream, marching in the band under the Friday night lights, Buc-ee’s, and cheering her beloved Astros.
In the summer of 2019, Nicole was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Fighting courageously for the past nearly two years, Nicole chose to become better rather than becoming bitter. Her decision to “Choose Joy” in the face of adversity guided her attitude and actions and forever influenced all with whom she interacted, and will bless generations to follow.
Nicole was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great comfort and assurance in her knowledge of our Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the eternal nature of families.
Nicole is survived by her parents, Brian and Jerilyn Crandall; her brothers and best friends, Jeremy and Maxwell Crandall; her grandparents, Robert and Julia Brough, and David Crandall; 16 aunts and uncles; 22 cousins; and more dear friends than can be counted. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Geniel Crandall.
A funeral service for Nicole will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 21521 Fairfield Place Drive in Cypress, Texas 77433. Prior to the service there will be a viewing from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the same location. All are invited to attend. Should you wish to participate in the service but are unable do so in person, you may view it at the following Zoom link:

While Nicole loved flowers, it is the family’s wish that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center at www.mdanderson.org/gifts. Please specify "glioblastoma research" to support research specifically aimed at developing treatments for glioblastoma so that one day patients and families will have the hope of a better outcome. Additionally, if you wish to remember Nicole in a more personal way, you can draw closer to God and adopt for yourself her motto to “Choose Joy” every day.
