Nell Farren

She was born on July 8th, 1930 as "Nell" Camp and grew up in the area around Nederland, Texas. Nell graduated from Nederland High School as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1948, attended Lamar College, and started what would be a 30-year career with Sun Oil Company. She married Gene Farren on March 6th, 1954, and the couple was blessed with two children; Rhonda and Mike. The Farren Family made their home in Nederland until 1973 when they moved to Corpus Christi due to transfers with Sun Oil and DuPont. After retiring, Nell and Gene moved to Franklin, PA in 1993 and enjoyed their home in the beautiful countryside for about 10 years. They returned to Corpus Christi to be near family, and later moved to the Houston area with family where Nell spent her final years.

Nell had a spunky and resilient spirit with a twinkle in her eye, which she kept throughout her life. She was known for her great love of family and friends, dedicating her life to making sure "things were just perfect." She and Gene were caregivers of their aging parents and family members for many years, ensuring they were loved and well cared for.

Nell is survived by her daughter Rhonda Millsap and her husband Stacy of Houston, and her son Mike Farren and his wife Deborah of Longview. She also left behind her two precious granddaughters Michele Farren of Ft. Worth and Daniele Farren of Dallas. Nell was preceded in death by her husband Gene, father David Camp, mother Jewel, and her brother James.

A visitation for Nell will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champion, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A committal service will occur Monday, September 25, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Oak Bluff Cemetery, 618 Block St, Port Neches, TX 77651.
