Nelda Nutt

Nelda was born in Ft. Worth, April 20, 1951. She passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2021 after fighting cancer for two years. She was the only child of John F. and Margaret Deason and spent most of her early years in Carthage, TX.

She graduated Carthage High School, and attended Panola Collage. She married Bid Nutt in 1981 and moved from Shreveport, LA to Houston where she later graduated from University of Houston. Nelda retired from HISD after 19 years of service. She was quite the grammar expert and proper diction was expected, of course. She enjoyed her family and visiting with her many friends and school chums. There was always time for another luncheon, shopping venture or buying a new novel. She is survived by her husband Bid Nutt and her cousins. A special thanks to all her caretakers at Methodist OPC including Dr. Monisha Singh and Miss Ola.

Services will be at Pat H. Foley October 6th with visitation beginning at 1:30pm followed by the service at 3:00pm. There will also be a service in Carthage, TX at Jimerson Lipsey on October 8th with visitation beginning 1:00pm followed by the service at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Gary Cemetery.
