Mrs. Nancy Laporte

A native of Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she grew up and lived until she got married.

She was one of seven children of a loving family formed by Simon Ramirez & Ossanna Romero.

She completed her education as a high school graduate specializing in commerce. To help her family, she started working at the young age of fifteen years old. She worked at different commerce institutions like banks and the Ministry of Agriculture office, where she met the love of her life, Edmond V. Laporte, whom she married after a short courtship.

Nancy and Edmond lived for a brief period of time in Riverdale Park, Washington, while Edmond finished his master’s degree. Both went back to Venezuela, where they formed their family, raising four children, Edmundo, Jean Paul, Flavie & Lucienne.

Nancy devoted her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and husband. She sacrificed her dreams of a career for the well-being of her family. She assisted her husband, supporting him from home and her children by being fully involved in their activities and school. She wore all the essential hats at home: mother, wife, mentor, chef, driver, doctor, and friend for her children and husband. She was a generous and unconditional friend. She was an outstanding cook and had a green thumb, no plant would ever die under her care. She loved the outdoors and the warm and tropical temperatures of her unforgettable Maracaibo.

She was a woman ahead of her times, determined and independent, and fiercely fought for the causes she believed in and, more importantly, her loved ones. She was also a great role model and made a positive difference in the lives of those who had the luck of meeting her.

She was a devout catholic and a woman of prayer. Many attest to the effectiveness of her intercessory prayer. She had an unshakeable faith and an unbendable will.

She is survived by her sons Edmundo (Susana) and Jean Paul (Nairiuska), her daughters Flavie (José) and Lucienne (Henry), 12 grandchildren (Joseph, Sophie, Henry, Luisana, Fatima, Christopher, Andrea, Stephanie, Jean Michel, Jean Luc, Christoph, and Jude), her sisters Gladys and Raiza and brothers, Marcos and Simon, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and her legacy will live forever in the hearts of her children and grandchildren, and all who knew her.

Nancy Laporte, conocida por sus hijos como "Mami", falleció el 7 de agosto de 2023 a la edad de 80 años en Houston, Texas.

Nativa de Maracaibo, Venezuela, donde creció y vivió hasta que se casó.

Ella era una de los siete hijos de una familia amorosa formada por Simón Ramírez y Ossanna Romero.

Completó su educación como bachiller especializada en comercio. Para ayudar a su familia, comenzó a trabajar a la temprana edad de quince años. Trabajó en diferentes instituciones de comercio como bancos y la oficina del Ministerio de Agricultura, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Edmond V. Laporte, con quien se casó después de un breve noviazgo.

Nancy y Edmond vivieron durante un breve período de tiempo en Riverdale Park, Washington, mientras Edmond terminaba su maestría. Ambos regresaron a Venezuela, donde formaron su familia, criando a cuatro hijos, Edmundo, Jean Paul, Flavie y Lucienne.

Nancy dedicó su vida al cuidado de sus hijos, nietos y esposo. Ella sacrificó sus sueños de una carrera por el bienestar de su familia. Ayudó a su esposo, apoyándolo desde el hogar y a sus hijos involucrándose plenamente en sus actividades y la escuela. Ella llevó todos los roles esenciales en el hogar: madre, esposa, mentora, cocinera, chofer, doctora y amiga de sus hijos y esposo. Fue una amiga generosa e incondicional. Era una excelente cocinera y tenía buena mano para las plantas, ninguna planta moriría bajo su cuidado. Amaba el aire libre y las temperaturas cálidas y tropicales de su inolvidable Maracaibo.

Fue una mujer adelantada a su tiempo, decidida e independiente, que luchó ferozmente por las causas en las que creía y, sobre todo, por sus seres queridos. También fue un gran modelo a seguir y marcó una diferencia positiva en la vida de quienes tuvieron la suerte de conocerla.

Era una católica devota y una mujer de oración. Muchos dan fe de la eficacia de su oración intercesora. Tenía una fe inquebrantable y una voluntad indoblegable.

Le sobreviven sus hijos Edmundo (Susana) y Jean Paul (Nairiuska), sus hijas Flavie (José) y Lucienne (Henry), 12 nietos (Joseph, Sophie, Henry, Luisana, Fatima, Christopher, Andrea, Stephanie, Jean Michel, Jean Luc, Christoph y Jude), sus hermanas Gladys y Raiza y sus hermanos, Marcos y Simon, y varias sobrinas, sobrinos, sobrinas nietas y sobrinos nietos.

Nancy fue una amorosa esposa, madre y abuela, y su legado vivirá para siempre en los corazones de sus hijos y nietos, y de todos los que la conocieron.
