Nancy (Nanny) P. Harmon born March 17, 1936 went to be with the Lord January 30, 2021. She is in her forever home with her mother, father, brother, and dear friends, Selma and Vic Smith. She is survived by husband Darrell (Buddy) R. Harmon, son Darrell (Rocky) W. Harmon, daughter-in-law Maggie Harmon, daughter Tammy H. Michaelis, son in law Kirk Michaelis, grandson Blake Harmon, granddaughters, Brittany Harmon Patton, Meagan Michaelis, Mallory Michaelis, Madeline Michaelis, Kelly Von Ogden. Great grand children Skylar Harmon, Madison Patton, Tex Swan. She is also survived by many dearly loved cousins.
Nancy was born and raised in Houston where she graduated from Reagan High School, attended a 2 year Business college, and was a member of both Lindale Assembly of God and First Baptist Church. She was an ambitious and talented young woman; not only was she assistant to the President of the Bank of the Southwest, she had a talent for music and could play any song you could name by ear. She accompanied various quartets and trios on piano in her early years.
Nancy married the love of her life, Darrel Ray Harmon and they were married for 63 years. She beautifully expressed her talent for interior decorating and making home a beautiful place while raising her two children Rocky and Tammy. Every holiday was celebrated with beautiful florals and decorations and the effort she put into making those days special will be cherished. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with Celebration of Life Services starting at 1:00 PM in the Colonial Chapel at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
