Betty Jean (Price) Hunter was born in Houston, Texas to the proud parents, William J. Price Sr., and Virginia D. (Winston) Price. She was the seventh child out of ten children. She grew up in Fifth Ward and Scenic Woods. Betty attended school in Houston ISD and North Forest ISD. Whereas, she often talked about events of herself, siblings, and close cousins at school (and at their homes). They were all raised very close. In addition, Betty accepted Christ at an early age. While young, she attended Mount Herman Baptist Church in Fifth Ward, Rev. Hatchett along with her parents and siblings. After attending Bright Morningstar Baptist Church, Rev. Fontenot in Studewood, Betty was baptized. When she was older, Betty joined All Nation MBC, Rev. August in Acres Home. Recently, she would visit Bethany MBC whenever her health permitted. Around 1972, Betty was married to Sherman Hunter, in which they were blessed with a son, Xavier Hunter. After being separated, later in life she met her companion, Stanley Criswell; who has been by her side until God called her home. Moreover, Betty loved music, dancing, and cooking. She loved her son, family, and people; cared and worried about everybody. All of her nieces and nephews were crazy about her. Betty also loved cooking big meals for events at her mother’s home where everybody always gathered. Most of all, she loved the Lord, always reading her Bible and other Christian literature. Betty believed in Jesus Christ, in prayer, and loved talking about the Word of God. She worked various jobs and as a home healthcare provider until her health fail. Betty had a passion for taking care of the sick, including being there for any of her siblings with any health issues. Betty was preceded in death by parents, William Sr., and Virginia Price; brothers, Walter and Kenneth. She leaves to cherish her memories sisters, Barbara, Patricia; brothers, William Jr, Alfred (Carol), Raymond (Janet), Roy (Brenda), Frederick Sr. (Alice); companion, Stanley Criswelll; son, Xavier Hunter Sr. (Carla); grandchildren, Nushadria, Mahogany, Xavier Jr., and Robert; great-grandchildren, five; many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
