Morris Brook Frazier Jr.

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and most importantly Christian, went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2022 after a brief illness in Houston, Texas. Morris was born in West Helena, Arkansas to Margaret Walker Frazier and Morris B. Frazier, Sr. on August 17, 1932, and he was thrilled to have recently celebrated his 90th birthday.

Morris was the eldest of seven children, and was a great example to his younger siblings. At the early age of 17 Morris joined the Air Force during the Korean War. He was introduced to the love of his life, Isabelle Poindexter, through his cousin. He never missed an opportunity to shower her with candy, flowers, or jewelry, both during their dating years and throughout the 71 years that they were married. He served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War, and Isabelle was by his side to support him. He was honorably discharged as an Airman 1st Class. They then stepped into their next phase of life where they moved to Memphis, TN, and he attended the University of Memphis.

Morris’ professional career focused around selling medical instrumentation, intensive care equipment, and cardiac care equipment for Hewlett Packard and Marquette Electronics. He was the Key Account Manager for the National Institute of Health, The Naval Academy, and Walter Reed Hospital. In his position he had the honor of equipping the hospital suite for President Lyndon B. Johnson, and had the opportunity to meet President Eisenhower, plus many other dignitaries while working in the Washington, D.C. area. Another highlight of his career was equipping a cardiac cath lab for Dr. Michael Debakey, and having the privilege of watching him perform a heart transplant. He was transferred to Houston in 1968 where he raised his family with Isabelle. He was a charter member of Spring Woods Baptist Church and was an inactive deacon at the time of his passing. In his earlier life he enjoyed leading the Children’s Education Ministry and was very involved with the overall growth of the church. Throughout his life he enjoyed travel and took his family on adventurous trips over the years. Many wonderful memories were made for his children as a result.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, his sister Jean Pickard, brother-in-law Frank Pickard, brother Roy Frazier, brother-in-law’s Robert Poindexter and Ralph Poindexter. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Isabelle Frazier; 3 children: daughter Rhetta and Rocky Sutton of Haines City, Fl; son Joel and Rachel Frazier of Spring, TX; daughter Kathy and Jorge Delgado of Spring, TX; brother Julian and Barbara Frazier; brother James and Carol Frazier; sister Margaret Frazier; sister Barbara and Jim Sislow; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Service to be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX at 11:30 a.m.
