It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn that passing of Moo Sup Han of Missouri City on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 77. He passed away peacefully at home from complications of cancer.
Moo Han was born in Daegu, South Korea on August 16, 1943. During his childhood, he excelled in his studies and graduated from Yonsei University in chemical engineering. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1966 where he received his master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He moved to Houston where he started to work and got married to Hea Ja. They had their first son, Ernest. Moo Han then went on to receive his PhD at Oklahoma University. He developed the famous Han-Starling equation in thermodynamics. He moved back to Houston with his family and soon Jimmy was born. He loved chemical engineering and was chief engineer, involved in chemical plant design and technology. He was an academic, teaching students in Korea, and he was a leader moving on to become vice president of business development.
Moo was dedicated to his work but was also devoted to his family and religion. Moo was an ordained deacon at South Main Baptist church. If he was not on his computer or phone for work, Moo could be found on the golf course. He loved the outdoors and loved to travel with his wife around the world.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Hea Ja; sons: Ernest (Crispina) and Jimmy (Mira); granddaughters: Elinor and Eidan; brothers: Jung Sup Han, Hwa Sup Han; sisters: Youngae Baek and Soonae Shim. May he Rest In Peace.
