Mona Joy Bilsky passed away September 13, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, James C. Bilsky, a son, Rory Alexander Bilsky, daughter in law Kelly Marie Bilsky and grandson Killian James. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Joy dearly.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Sercy and Mona Walkinshaw and a brother Mickey Walkinshaw.
On February 7, 1959, Joy married James at Holy Name Catholic Church in Houston. They resided in Houston and also had a ranch in Shriner, Texas where they had many happy times. Joy loved nature and the wild life. She started her morning by feeding the wild birds and watering her many plants and flowers.
Upon finishing her education, Joy went to work in the financial industry for forty years, where she held numerous positions. Joy was a happy person and always made people feel good.
Her strong faith and trust in God helped her carry the pain. She willingly accepted God’s will.
A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc, Houston 77024. The interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston 77079.
