He was born in Roskilde, Denmark on September 5, 1946 to Johannes Jorgen and Valborg (Mortensen) Jepsen. He came to America in 1952 and his family settled in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Mogens graduated from Allen High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a member of B-Recon, 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam. After Vietnam, he was an instructor of survival swimming and hand to hand combat at the Marine Corps Officers’ Training School in Quantico, Virginia. It was there that he met his wife, Carolinda “Candy” Jepsen (Schumacher). They were married for 55 years.
After his four years of service and honorable discharge, he attended Muhlenberg College where he graduated with a degree in Economics. Mogens was a Certified Public Accountant and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He had a successful career as Chief Financial Officer for multiple corporations.
He was a loyal member of the American Legion, B-Recon association and Windwood Presbyterian Church.
Mogens is survived by loving wife Candy, children Kirsten and her husband Philip Vance, Katrina and her husband Robert Lee and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Bodil TerHaar and a grandson.
Gathering of friends and family will be held at 11:00 a.m., December 19, 2024, at the American Heritage Funeral Home with an Honor Service following at 12:30 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery.

Following the gathering will be a committal service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
