He is survived by his son, William Whitney; sisters, Levetea Penton and Cheryl Rogers; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva Victoria and Michael Wells Goldsberry; his parents; cousins, Jerry Dean and Billy Gene Goldsberry; uncles, Emory Glenn and Zolly Buren Goldsberry; and aunts, Tillie and Verna Goldsberry.
Michael was a dedicated fireman and paramedic at the Houston Fire Department, serving from July 12, 1980, until his retirement on January 4, 2003. His commitment to public service spanned over two decades, during which he impacted many lives through his bravery and compassion.
A graduate of Humble High School, Michael carried the values of his education throughout his life. He was a member of the First Methodist Humble Church, where he actively participated in community and spiritual activities.
An avid hunter and gun collector, Michael also had a passion for travel, exploring diverse cultures and landscapes around the world, including Australia, Mexico, Austria, Croatia, and Jamaica. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were evident to all who knew him.
