Michael Benton Posey

Michael was a skilled engine parts salesman, car and racing aficionado, history buff, music lover, food enthusiast, prolific storyteller and king of one-liners. He loved traveling and had many adventures with Patsy, his wife and best friend of 57 years. Together, they made dozens of road trips across Texas and the U.S. — usually with the kids or grandkids in tow. He delighted in showing them the beauty and history of the country. Above all, Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was so proud of his family, and his life was full of love and laughter.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Posey and Lena Savage Posey; and his sister, Paula Posey McMahon. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Stockton Posey; daughter Claudia Phillips and her husband Mark Nalty; son Jim Phillips and his wife Jo; daughter Michele Posey Love and her husband Victor; daughter Anne-Marie Posey Mann and her husband Michael; sister Patricia Posey; granddaughter Ashley Phillips Butler; granddaughter Ali Phillips Hutsen and her husband Brandon; grandson Sean Nalty and his partner Kasey Carboni; great-grandchildren Luke, Addie, Cami, Taylor and Joshua; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family is deeply grateful to the medical staff who cared for Michael during the past month, especially Carol, Ana and Ira at Park Manor of the Woodlands, and with profound thanks to the team at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands (Drs. Yaramada and Hussein; nurses Barbara, Billie, Natalie, Shannon, Alfred and Tamra; and so many more dedicated professionals).

Services are to be conducted on Saturday, May 27: Visitation with the family will be at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway in Houston. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at Conroe Memorial Park, 1600 Porter Road in Conroe.
