Mary Tellez was a woman who truly inspired the lives of people she met. She was always learning, creating and loving no matter what hardships came her way. She was a modern day renaissance woman who was ahead of her time. She was a woman who centered her life around giving but received joy through politics, art and travel. Being politically active, she participated in many civil rights movements. Her strong faith was attributed with her passion for the lord. She was self driven and led her family with perseverance. Her journey began with a brushstroke and will continue as a masterpiece.
She was preceded by her husband Louis H. Tellez and son Michael Tellez. Her spirit will live on through her children: Cynthia Quintanilla, Louis Tellez, Mark Tellez and Michelle Bernal as well as her six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mass – Monday, May 24th open to the public from 5-9, rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral (6900 Lawndale Street 77023). Her funeral will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Tuesday May 25th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception (4918 Cochran Street 77009).
