Mary V. Richardson

She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years Lester Richardson; her beloved daughter, Bevilly Kallina and husband Fred; grandchildren, Paul Kallina and John Kallina and wife Debbie; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Reagan Kallina; sister Peggy Bowen; sister-in-law, Billie Jo Childers; two brother-in-laws, Walter Sherrod and Johnnie Richardson and wife Sybil and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Elmer Childers, Sr. and Cornelia Harold Childers; two brothers, Verdell Childers and John Elmer Childers, Jr. and two sisters, Edna Childers Bates and Ruby Childers Sherrod.

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was an active member of Garden Oaks Baptist Church.

Even through the difficult challenges of her illness, Mary continued to live her life with the strength, dignity and love for the Lord Jesus Christ that we had become so accustomed to seeing throughout her life. Her life was rich and filled with wonderful experiences and memories. She was a wonderful person who will be missed deeply by those that loved her.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company with a Celebration of Life to be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 W. 34th St., Houston, TX 77018. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations in honor of Mary V. Richardson can be made to Garden Oaks Baptist Church, 3206 N. Shepherd Dr., Houston, TX 77018.
