Mary Helen Garcia

Mary Helen Valverde Garcia, 79, left this Earth on April 12, 2023 and began her eternal life with her Heavenly Father. She was born on January 1, 1944 and is survived by her three daughters: Conception (Connie) Marron Assiff and son-in-law Charles B. Assiff, Jr., Mary Magdalene Marron Kent and son-in-law Frank I. Kent and Marie Ann Marron and son-in-law Gregory Castle.

Grandchildren: Joseph Ramon Luis Logan and Sarah Marina Kent, Dwight LaVergne, Rebecca LaVergne, Amberlyn Castle and Brooklyn Castle. Ms. Garcia is also survived by her brother, Edward Valverde and sister-in-law Santos Valverde. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Sara Becerra Valverde, Father, Miguel Torres Valverde, husband, Rodney A. Garcia, sister, Rebecca Valverde and her beloved brothers, Miguel Valverde Jr., Joe Valverde, Oscar Valverde, Robert Valverde, Gilbert Valverde, Richard Valverde, James Valverde, Ernest Valverde and Alfred Valverde.

She loved the Lord, her extended family, friends, her church, family and nieces and nephews, numbering in the hundreds.

Services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Broadway Funeral Home, 4136 Broadway, Houston, TX 77087.

Visitation on April 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm - 6:30 p.m.

Private cremation to follow at a later date.
